Things College Students Should Consider Before Deciding
A while ago, my wife and I went out to dinner with a couple dear friends of ours. The four of us live rather close to each other but adulting and parenting have changed our ability to connect with each other. But when we can connect, dang do we pick up on hilarious and deep topics.
We’ve known each other for about 15 years now; going back to our days in college together. During our dinner, we were reflecting on our college years and one question came up rather early our conversation:
“If you went to college all over again, would you go to a campus ministry?”
At this time, my family and their family left our respective churches for such similar reasons that it felt like we were talking about the same church. Misogyny, racism, financial indiscretion, poor character amongst leadership, and theologies that hold no regard for pursuing equity and justice. These terms weren’t just being used to describe our churches. They were being used to describe churches around the nation.
